The commemorative volume 40 Jaar Status Aparte: Tussen voortgaan en stilstaan has now been printed and is ready for distribution. The publication marks forty years of Aruba as an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and offers a moment of reflection on past, present, and future.
Edited by mr. Lincoln D. Gomez and mr. Brechtje J. Huiskes, the book provides a multifaceted and in-depth reflection on Aruba’s development since achieving Status Aparte in 1986. The volume brings together contributions from 38 authors representing different disciplines and generations, originating from various parts of the Kingdom.
Legal scholars, policymakers, academics, cultural thinkers, and practitioners contribute perspectives on constitutional relations, the rule of law, economic resilience, education, culture, human rights, and Aruba’s position within the Kingdom and Europe. The multilingual character of the book reflects the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Kingdom itself.

Het gedenkboek 40 Jaar Status Aparte: Tussen voortgaan en stilstaan is inmiddels gedrukt en gereed voor distributie. De publicatie markeert veertig jaar Aruba als autonoom land binnen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en vormt een moment van reflectie op verleden, heden en toekomst.
Onder redactie van mr. Lincoln D. Gomez en mr. Brechtje J. Huiskes biedt dit gedenkboek een veelzijdige en diepgaande beschouwing van Aruba’s ontwikkeling sinds 1986. De bundel bevat bijdragen van 38 auteurs uit uiteenlopende vakgebieden en generaties, afkomstig uit verschillende delen van het Koninkrijk. Juristen, beleidsmakers, academici, culturele denkers en ervaringsdeskundigen leveren samen een breed en genuanceerd beeld van autonomie in de praktijk.
De bijdragen behandelen onder meer constitutionele verhoudingen, rechtsstatelijke vraagstukken, economische veerkracht, onderwijs, cultuur, mensenrechten en de positie van Aruba binnen het Koninkrijk en Europa. De bundel is meertalig en weerspiegelt daarmee de rijkdom en diversiteit van het Koninkrijk.
