Trinity: From Sci-Fi Warrior to Real-World Healers
Trinity. That name might first remind you of the black-clad warrior from The Matrix – played by Carrie-Anne Moss – a woman who defied the system, fought for freedom, and stood firmly by those she cared about. She was strength and skill, yes, but also presence. Steady in a storm. Precise in a crisis. It turns out that “Trinity” means something powerful off-screen, too.
Right here in Aruba, Trinity Quality Care Services is doing something equally heroic on a different battlefield. Founded by ICU nurse and entrepreneur Kimberli Hoo, Trinity provides professional, personalized home nursing care for locals and tourists alike. After witnessing their work up close these past few weeks, I felt it was time to shine a light on what they’re doing.

Real Care, Real Commitment
We at Gomez Coffie Law and Andin Bikker’s Advanced Law & Management Advisory Firm had a colleague – Eduard “Shon Benki” Fowler, of counsel – undergo eye surgery requiring a four-week post-operative treatment and recovery protocol. Shon Benki, at 86, has had a long and distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. He formerly served as the head of the Tax Inspectorate of Aruba, later as a candidate civil law notary, and for 19 years, as a supervisory director at Aruba Bank, where he also held a seat on the credit committee. He played a key role in establishing a Curaçao-based law firm’s presence in Aruba and created the client portfolio from scratch. He also served with distinction on the State Council of Aruba, advising on legislation before its implementation. He is a past president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Shon Benki e is a co-founder of the Stichting Algemene Bejaardenzorg Aruba (SABA), a private foundation that provides chronic care to young adults and elderly citizens across three facilities: Centro di Cuido in San Nicolas, Huize Maris Stella in Savaneta, and Verpleeghuis Oranjestad. SABA serves both somatic and psychogeriatric residents and remains a vital institution in the island’s long-term care system.Stichting Algemene Bejaardenzorg Aruba – SABA. This year, SABA is celebrating 53 years of existence.

As of October 2014, Shon Benki joined Gomez & Bikker as of counsel, and now continues that role with us at Gomez Coffie Law. He remains active in business development, legal sparring, and professional mentoring, and his extensive knowledge and insight continue to be a cornerstone of our team.
So yes – when he needed post-op care, we wanted the best. And that’s exactly what he received.
From the moment Trinity stepped in, it was clear we were in expert hands. Their team of warm, professional, and deeply attentive nurses ensured every part of Shon Benki’s recovery plan was followed to the letter. Medication? On time, every time. Post-op monitoring? Thorough and precise. Communication with family and firm? Clear, kind, and constant.
What struck me most wasn’t just the technical competence – though that’s unquestionable – it was the humanity. These aren’t just healthcare providers. They are people who care. They show up with compassion, treat patients with dignity, and take the time to listen.

A Vision Born from the ICU
Founder Kimberli Hoo knew from a young age that nursing was her calling. At just 17, she began nursing studies, eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Science in the Netherlands. What followed was over 15 years of hands-on experience in healthcare, from nursing homes and mental health institutions to hospital wards and, ultimately, the ICU at Horacio Oduber Hospital in Aruba.
But clinical expertise wasn’t the only thing Kimberli developed. She also cultivated a deeply personal, purpose-driven vision of what healthcare should be: patient-focused, flexible, and grounded in dignity. That vision is what led her to entrepreneurship.
She saw a gap in the system – particularly when it came to accessible, high-quality home care for Aruba’s residents and its visitors. So, in 2021, she launched Trinity Quality Care Services after restructuring a previous care company (Nursability VBA). The name reflects both her faith and her model: three pillars of service – Mobile Nurse Services, Specialized Care, and Transitional Care – that together offer a complete, compassionate continuum of care. High Standards, Deep Roots
Today, Trinity offers a wide range of care options- tailored to each patient’s unique needs. These include post-operative care, wound management, chronic condition support, IV hydration therapy, and respite care. They also serve tourists through vacation care and offer at-home physical therapy, dental hygiene, and hairdressing services. It’s a model built on holistic dignity.
Their values? Simple, straightforward, and lived every day: Quality. Reliability. Flexibility.
A Name That Runs Deep
Of course, the name “Trinity” holds deep biblical significance, too. In Christian belief, the Trinity refers to the one God who exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s a picture of perfect unity, relationship, and love. In that sense, the name feels especially fitting for a care team built around compassion, trust, and the interconnected work of healing.
Honoring the Work
To the Trinity Quality Care Services nurses:
“Thank you for caring for our colleague with grace and excellence. Thank you for representing the best of what healthcare can be. You are doing more than a job – you are answering a calling.”
