REGISTRY OF ARUBA FOLLOWS SMAR’S DOMICILE POLICY
The Registry of Aruba has made it possible to elect domicile through a local representative, in order to increase flexibility of the aircraft registration procedure on the island. In human terms, this means that the registry has created a legal framework that provides aircraft owners with extended flexibility in the ownership and operation of aircraft by foreign individuals and corporate entities. As of now, acquisition and ownership structures, tax-efficient and confidential, can be simply domiciled on Aruba, giving owners the freedom to choose their own jurisdiction of choice. An aircraft registered in the US under a US Trust can now be registered with the Aruba registry without changing anything in its present structure. “The implications for aircraft owners and operators are endless; this legislation is progressive and it offers efficiency, which is crucial in this ever changing and evolving industry,” says Jorge Colindres, CEO of the Registry of Aruba.
